Double/Double Hunt Test

Each year we host a Double/Double Hunt Test for all Pointing Breeds to test their skill against AKC standard. Here dogs are rated and judged on their own independent skills and can earn non-competitive pass/fail toward their Junior, Senior, Master hunt test titles.

In the fall of each year GSPC of Reno host annually their Specialty Show in conjunction with the Bonanza Kennel Club in Carson City, Nevada. Here the best of the breeding stock is judged for the future of the German Shorthair Pointer. There is no better place to learn about the German Shorthair than at a Specialty Show.

Riding Field Trial
May 11th-14th, 2023

Annually, GSPC host a Riding Field Trials for all Pointing Breeds to test their hunting skill in a competitive AKC event. Dog are judged against each other earning placement of first-fourth. The ultimate goal is to reach enough placement points to earn the coveted FC and/or AFC titles. Riding Field trials are done with competitors on horseback as dogs are known to range great distances.

Walking Field Trial
June 3-4, 2023
November 4-5, 2023
Each year GSPC host two Walking Field Trials (spring & fall) for all Pointing Breeds to test their skill in a competitive AKC event. Dog are judged against each other on hunting skill earning placement of first-fourth. The ultimate goal is to reach enough placement points to earn the coveted FC and/or AFC titles. Walking Field trials are done with competitors on foot. Dogs are expected to range within hunting distance of a man on foot.

Rattle Snake Avoidance

Each year Rattlesnake Avoidance Training is offered to our members and community. With the help of Get Rattled, we teach your pet's how to avoid dangerous encounters with our venomous friends in everyday settings.
